But here’s the thing.

I understand Har/Mic really I do. The duty of it all, knowing that someone is going to die, and it’s yall duty.

But obviously it feels like yall don’t for real. Yall look at the crystal to determine that it is not but all the crystals so far looks the same.

And we know aka the ones who read the manga know how the Talismans actually look like ( The Mirror, the Sword, The Orb)

But so far the narrative is not making clear how they look like. Which probably the animators didn’t know yet either.

But how does it make it normal? How can you tell that it’s normal? The color? The shape? What is it? Because doing this for episodes 90 to 110 is going to get old quick fast and a hurry. It’s already getting old.

So I think it might have been for a chunk of the S run that the writers honestly didn’t know what the Talismans are so they had to make it up as they went along.

This is just running some math but the chapter where we are first fully introduced to what a Talisman looks like as a reader really is the chapter that ChibiUsa takes the helicopter ride home. Which is Act 29. And considering we know the chapters were on a monthly basis while I can’t find the precise date online despite looking, a lot. That would put the relase in May of 94.

The anime’s first episode of this arc aired in March of 94. So it does predate it. So right at the same time as the manga essentially. As for why it took until August to impliment the change in the story. I’m guessing they decided they wanted to done with Kaolinite first rather than try to insert it mid-arc. Since the first episode that could have maybe used this information would have been Episode 95 and the last could have used it in this timespan would have been 98.

Hell why they didn’t even admit to maybe the Talismans weren’t actually in peoples pure hearts. And everyone had been on a wild goose chase for 12 episodes is a question I have. Like that could have been a wild twist

Though this just feels like one of those instances of why someone just didn’t think to just you know ask Naoko.

Because she probably had an idea of what they were from when she started the arc.

Also since at this time Chibiusa is not in the picture so they got to bring her back which they don’t bring back until 103.

Also she won’t say it but I feel like it should be pointed out like a percentage of the reason that this ended up dragging out as long as this did is partly on those 4. If someone cough Ami had maybe thought to use that computer program to make sure diamons aren’t a problem. Especially since two of your own teammates were recently targeted before Usagi.

Like you can’t predict where they’re going I get it.

But why no one thought to maybe that very useful computer program more than that one time. Just makes me want to facepalm.

This episode has the energy of ‘this could have been an email’ except its more 'this could have been one episode’. If maybe the writers had used more common sense instead of drama llama.

Oh it absolutely could have been just one episode.

Especially if the writers let Usagi called the girls when she was on the rooftop with Mamo before they had to run for their lives instead of waiting to call Luna when they was cornered by the daimon and Kalonite.

They could have been there,distracted both of them,Usagi got her brooch back and defeated the daimon.

But nope two part drama.

also the whole “chiaki had to read the manga chapters” vs “he remembered everything from memory” tells me that chiaki wanted to do a good job and freshen up her memory, and takahashi did a half assed job by just doing what he remembers. no wonder Cosmos is a big ass nostalgia pondering and not the manga. While s3 and Eternal with all its wrongs still stayed faithful to the manga and the pandering to the 90s wan minimal and not annoying.

and again, I clearly remember crystal 1-2 creators in interviews stating that they were fans of the manga, and it was a love letter to takeuchi’s work

this mega super fan mentality is so fucking toxic.

I may not like some of the things she did to season 3 and Eternal but for the most part did a good job with what she was dealt with. To me Season 3 finale is still the best finale of the whole crystal series. It just amazing to me how so many people sung her praise and said she “saved” Crystal with season 3 now acting brand new with Cosmos.

Yeah a lot of this isn’t a surprise. Though finding out when Cosmos started production certainly explains the timing.

Curious to see what that last homage they’re referencing is. Because I think that managed so far to keep out of the leaks and what Toei has used as marketing material but could be wrong.

Spoilers: From what I have heard it pretty much a scene after she comes back from the Cauldron to confirm that Luna and her family is still alive. Since the fandom always wonder what happened to them since jump to the UsaMamo Bed and Wedding sence.
